Privacy Policy for RapidSubs Captions & Subtitles

RapidSubs does not collect any personal data. Your videos, audio and transcripts stay on your iPhone and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no ads.

Everything RapidSubs does to your video happens on your device: trimming, cropping, transcribing speech and rendering the captions into the finished video. Nothing is sent to a server for processing.

None. RapidSubs has no account or sign-in, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers and no third-party SDKs that collect data. On the App Store, RapidSubs is labelled "Data Not Collected".

Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition (the iOS SpeechAnalyzer framework). Your audio is processed on your iPhone and is not sent anywhere.

The first time you use a language, iOS downloads that language's speech model from Apple. This download is handled by iOS under Apple's Privacy Policy, and no audio is sent as part of it.

• You choose videos with the system photo picker. Only the items you select are shared with the app.
• When you save a finished video, iOS asks for add-only Photos permission. This lets RapidSubs add the video to your library; it cannot read your library.

• A small settings file: your chosen language and whether you have seen the onboarding and hints.
• Temporary working files while you edit and export, which are deleted afterwards.

This stays on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes all of it.

RapidSubs checks for over-the-air updates of its own code from Expo's update service (expo.dev). Like any web request, this reveals your device's IP address and the app version to that service. It is used only to deliver updates. See Expo's Privacy Policy.

• The App Store rating prompt is Apple's own.
• Sharing uses the iOS share sheet. Whatever you share goes to the app or service you choose, under that service's own policies.

RapidSubs is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
